Spring is Coming!

Sherpa Jacket (sold out)        Guess How Much...Book       Thermos        Pink Rainboots         Peter Rabbit Book    SnugOrganics PJ           Plush Bunny

The weather is getting warmer, Easter is just around the corner, and its finally feelin' like Spring up in here! Here are the favorites for my little girl for Spring.

I LOVE the Sherpa lined striped jacket for the windy weather we still get up here. Its so soft and cozy.

In my efforts to get rid of plastic drinking bottles I bought this thermos and it has been great so far, no leaks - which is my biggest peeve ever! - you can't even imagine how many times I had spilled water in my purse soaking everything else. Boo!

My little girl absolutely adores the pink rainboots I got for her. she can slip them on herself and there has been days where she would not take them off all day. Can't wait for it to rain for her to jump in puddles!

I can't say enough about the Organic Sherpa cotton PJ I got for her - it is so soft and warm - yet breathable. After reading and doing some research about polyester pajamas (I recommend you do the same) I threw all of them away and bought her this set - it is pricey but I would rather invest in something durable and healthy for my daughter to wear.

The plush bunny and the two books I just barely ordered for her Easter Basket.

DIY Chalkboard Tutorial

So here is a project I recently did. A friend of ours gave us wall art and although I loved the frame, I was not too crazy about the "art" itself - it did not match any room we had in the house. I remembered seeing some posts on Pinterest about chalkboard walls and decided to give this a try. I must say, I absolutely love our new chalkboard piece - we write little messages to each other, things to remember, and customize cute messages on it for holiday cheer! =]

Materials you need:
- Frame
-Piece of sturdy smooth cardboard to fit inside frame
-Chalkboard paint
-Roller for painting
-Rags,paper, or magazines for setup and cleaning
-Chalk

Here is what I started with:

So first, I removed the back and took out the photo, leaving just the frame and the backing.

I then cut the piece of cardboard to fit inside the frame, put it down on some paper not to get the floor dirty, and painted away!

Once I was finished, I let it dry according to the instructions on the back of the paint can and then installed it into the frame and hung it on my wall. Voila!

October Favorites

Posted by Alinka at 11:20 PM 0 comments

We have been doing some extra shopping this month as we are slowly changing our wardrobe from Summer to Fall. Here are some of my favorite items for the month of October.

Tom's Toddler Shoes - I absolutely adore these shoes! I purchased the grey ones so that it can match with more of the outfits Lilly has. They are super comfy and easy to put on and the best part is that for every pair that is purchased the company donates a pair to a child in need...sounds good to me!

Cherokee Striped Blazer- I LOVE little blazer that I bought for her from Target recently. We went to Target to buy a gift and had a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase coupon and a $5.00 gift card so it's like I bought this item for $4.00! Booyah! Can't wait to pair it with some dark jean leggings and some grey boots - I think its perfect!

Oxo Tots Flip Top Snack Cup - I love how convenient and compact this little snack cup is. I had been using a regular old and boring small Tupperware for her snacks but when I saw this pink one at T.J.Maxx I just had to have it! It was on sale for $2.99 - cheaper than what Amazon has it for. I love the fact that the top is attached to the cup so that it is not a separate piece and I don't have to worry about losing it. I put dried blueberries/cherries or some plain cheerios and throw it in my bag when we go out for errands. Keeps her busy and quiet for when she starts to get a bit fussy at the store ;]

Carter's Skeleon Pajama Set - It wouldn't be Halloween in our house without a little skeleton running around at night!. These pajamas are super cute and I just love that they are pink and girly and she can wear it out after Halloween is over too.

Pillow Pets Dream Lights Penguin - This little guy right here has become a must in our bedtime routine. Lilly is obsessed with penguins so usually our family and friends buy her anything penguin related - our collection of penguins is growing and growinggg. This penguin is very soft and cuddly and I love the nightlight stars that change colors. I turn him on when I put her down in her crib and she loves it! Love the fact that it automatically shuts off after 20 minutes too.

BabyGanics Smooth Moves Daily Lotion - With the weather getting colder I really think this daily lotion is a must have! This lotion was  in my Citrus Lane October subscription box.  I like that it doesn't leave an oily residue that some baby lotions do. It seems to absorb easily and makes her skin feel nice and smooth.

Hooded Faux Fur Bunny Vest - I will take any opportunity to dress my daughter up as an animal - I think babies dressed up as bears, bunnies etc are sooo freakin' adorable so when I saw this at Crazy8 at our local mall I just had to have it! That reminds me -  I have been meaning to buy her some brown furry boots to complete the outfit.

Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Posted by Alinka at 12:03 AM 0 comments
In the spirit of October this weekend we decided to go to the local pumpkin patch to pick out a few pumpkins for my little one to decorate. Although it was overcrowded and a bit hot we had a good time and managed to pick a nice sugar pumpkin. After all the decorating is done I am going to attempt to make pumpkin soup - or a pumpkin pie...have not decided yet - would be my first time! Here's a few photos from our trip:
